A short impulse to regulate the beating of the heart - pacemakers are life-saving medical devices that have been improved considerably since their invention. The first pacemaker was implanted in 1958 and was integrated into a shoe polish can. Through medical engineering, pacemakers have become tiny, more efficient and durable. Being part of this industry, VDMA Medical Technology supports inventions in the field of medical engineering.
A FRESH BREEZE IN THE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT
Bianca Illner is not too concerned about being a female manager surrounded by mostly men. She is one of the latest newcomers to the VDMA family and heads the Management Systems department. In an interview with VDMAimpulse she talks about her future plans to make her department the place-to-turn-to, her position as a "female head of" and which fundamental things she would like to change – on a business and personal level – if she had the power to do so.
FIT FOR THE FUTURE

But if you fail to predict a new trend, you crash. Recognizing trends and interpreting them collectively is a way to stay ahead. This is the idea behind VDMA’s new Competence Center Future Business.
